Telluride’s remoteness is a source of its beauty. Naturally, getting there can take some advanced planning. We recommend making your travel plans early, however, the best time to book will be closer to January once flight prices have normalized.

Surrounding Airports

Montrose (MTJ): The closest regional airport with service from most commercial airlines daily. It is only a scenic 75 minute drive from Telluride. Note that Uber/Lyft do not service this airport consistently so booking transportation via the vendors listed to the right is suggested.
Telluride (TEX): This small regional airport offers commercial service from PHX and DEN via Denver Air Connection once daily. FBO services are also available here.
Durango (DRO): 2.5 hours southwest of Telluride.
Grand Junction (GJT): 2.5 hours north of Telluride.
Salt Lake City (SLC), Denver (DEN), and Albuquerque (ABQ) are all roughly 5-6 hours away.

Rental Car: Cars can be rented from MTJ or GJT airport, however, cars are not needed once you arrive as Telluride is a walkable community. A rental car will be useful if you plan to explore the greater region.
